Anniversary Memorial Sunday 31st March 2019

Memorial

Memorial

2019 is a very special year as it is the 375th anniversary of the Battle. We would like to cordially invite members of the public to commemorate with us those who perished with a wreath-laying and memorial service.

Due to the significance this year, there will be a higher profile, drumhead memorial service presided over by the Bishop of Basingstoke. It is a fantastic day out with a great pub, a short and a moving service on the original battlefield. Numbers are growing year by year and visitors are most welcome.

As part of the commemoration, members of the reenactment societies taking part in our History through the Ages event later in the year will be taking part in a march from Old Winchester Hill, Hampshire, finishing at the Flower pots in Cheriton on Saturday 30th March.

The distance is almost exactly Marathon length, and we will be joined by members of the British Legion for the final approach to the Memorial Site.

If you would like to support this march or for more information please contact us at info@battleofcheriton.co.uk
